SUndANce fILm fEStivaL

The Sundance Film Festival is currently going on in Park City. This is one of the highlights of going to school in Utah. Every year since my sophomore year of college we (different groups of friends.. Paige has always been a constant though..) have attended this event with the sole goal of celebrity sightings. We've seen a few good ones in the past and this year was no exception; Amy, Paige and I saw Chelsea Clinton, Leonardo Dicaprio and snoop d.o.double g.

Next weekend we're going back to see an actual movie screening. And Eddie's coming!

Deer Creek Reservoir

it took us 4 years to discover the most delicious Mexican restaurant on Main St.

weekend in St George

Two of my cousins, Michael Ann and Carson, and I headed down to St George this weekend to visit our uncle Jack and aunt Susan. It was definitely an enjoyable time.

We did the following:
enjoyed the 55* temps
shopped for 3 hours (hiatus from my budget)
learned awes shopping tips and tricks from Susan
ate delicious veggie pizza and
Susan whipped up one of her awesome salads (hiatus from my diet)
watched a documentary about l.o.v.e. called paper heart
ate Jack's popcorn, cooked and seasoned to perfection
slept in their most comfortable beds
had my own room and bathroom
ate bacon and homemade blueberry pancakes
went to 1 hour of church
snacked on leftover Christmas candy while
watching the cowboys lose
ate chocolate chips while watching Carson make her perfected chocolate cake
made homemade rolls for the first time in my life with Susan
ate another wonderful meal
went for a fast paced walk around the golf course
cause Susan and Jack are speed demons
watched some tennis
intermixed with
critiquing dresses at the
golden globes
ate some ice cream
nice drive home
perfect trip :)

monster truck

This weekend we went with Sarah and Eric to the monster truck show. It was so freaking loud. Real fun though- I'm getting better at sitting through dangerous sporting events and actually watching them. Demolition derby was fun but I feel like my eyes were covered most of the time. I actually saw a lot of the monster truck show.

the infamous Big Foot

racing

Ha! Some hillbilly sitting next to us. Eric and Sar dressed up, which was so smart because most people did. I had a pic of them together but it mysteriously got deleted from my camera..Sar?? :)

BYU rocks

Eddie's roomie/ good friend Justin hooked us up with some tix to the BYU v UNLV game last night. It made my top 5 best sporting events ever. Such a good game. Everyone and their dog were at the game. BYU was ranked 23rd before this game, I don't know where they are now.

Justin w/ his friend

Chanel and I reunited at the game!
I hadn't seen this girl in almost a year so that was real nice

I really love sporting events with Eddie. We're both real competitive.
There may have even been times when I turned around and yelled BOO YA
at the annoying UNLV fans right behind us
...that felt good until the other BYU fans shook the UNLV fans' hands and were real nice to them. I hate when that happens, it makes me feel like I have the worst sportsmanship in the world.

Overall...10 outta 10 at the Coug game last night!

one year ago today

The beginning of each year will always hold more meaning to me now.
It was exactly one year ago today that I was embarking on the best journey of my entire life.
Some of you are probably thinking
woah..get over it
But I can't!
It was too special and life-changing and amazing.
Every time I think about it I want to
laughcryandsmile at the same time

One of my friends from the trip, Richelle, sent an email to our entire Jeru group
reminding us of a quote that one of our professors often quoted by
President Monson:

"Let us, in the performance of our duty, follow in the footsteps of the Master. As you and I walk the pathway Jesus walked, let us listen for the sounds of sandaled feet. Let us reach out for the Carpenter's hand. Then we shall come to know Him....We will discover He is more than the Babe in Bethlehem, more than the carpenter's son, more than the greatest teacher ever to live. We will come to know Him as the Son of God, our Savior and our Redeemer."

politically speaking

Interesting little quiz I found!
But some of the questions were misleading/
not very pointed so I bet I'm 3 lines closer to the
right.
Just sayin'

wisdom for 2010

http://stacysbigpicture.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/01/29/hinckley0029.jpg

Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. The fact is that most putts don’t drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just like people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, and most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is just like an old time rail journey … delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed.
The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.
