the zoo

this week we went to the kansas city zoo.
somehow i had heard a lot about it (?) and wanted to check it out!
so of course eddie obliged and came with me.

best exhibit?
cheetahs, duh.
we made it just in time for the "cheetah chat" where the cage-keeper talked about how incredible these creatures are. they can go from 0-60 in 3 seconds. and 1 stride can be as long as 20 feet!

we rode the tram & train everywhere cause it was soooooooooo hot

ballgame

we hit up the kansas city royals game after church this week. i loooove baseball games. {esp. with eddie. even back when we were just friends, baseball games were one of our fav things}
the stadium was incredible, the field was beautiful, the fountains (!) were refreshing, my italian sausage was delicious and the sun was hot. it was a welcomed change from all the rain we've been having

our seats weren't what you call ideal, but it was nice cause we had plenty of room to sprawl

it was quite the sunday thrill.

last week we went and explored the country club plaza. sounds more la-ti-da than it really is. it's a nice little part of town though with tons of shops and restaurants. so we wandered the shops then grabbed a bite to eat at this fine establishment. it was cool- they had something like 600 ingredient options for pizzas, salads and sandwiches.
