what a season

"Sure he can swish a shot when he’s off balance or knock back threes when he’s falling down. He can stop on a dime in a herd of stampeding players or split a pair of awesome defenders or land a clutch free throw when the stakes are through the ceiling. And of course there’s the whole crazy misdirection thing Jimmer’s got going on. He bobs. He weaves. He turns it all that way when you think he’ll turn it this way. He doesn’t jump ... and then suddenly he does! Only he doesn’t just jump. He explodes. And next thing you know, he’s airborne, sailing over mere mortals like he’s Inspector Freaking Gadget.
That’s all pretty great stuff. But what has made Jimmer such a pleasure to watch is that he’s one of those athletes who plays with full-on, flat-out, over-the-top joy. He reminds me of a professional baseball player I loved watching back in the day: Kirby Puckett.
Kirby Puckett played with a smile on his face. He caught fly balls, smiling. He hit home runs, smiling. He rounded the bases, smiling. He was like hey, Ma! Did you see that? Did you see how I just parked the ball over the center fielder’s head? Isn’t baseball great? Isn’t life grand?
It’s the same with Jimmer. When he turns to the crowd and roars to the rafters, he roars with happiness. Hey, Ma! Did you see that? Hey, Ma! Isn’t this a blast?
And the rafters roar back — you’re right! It’s been a blast."

Brandon Davies

Two of Davies’ teammates, Jimmer Fredette and Charles Abouo, said Wednesday night after the loss that they stand behind their former teammate and have no resentment towards him, saying they consider him a brother.
“Everyone makes mistakes in their life,” Abouo said. “We are reaching out and trying to help him get through this.”
“He told us everything. He told us he was sorry and that he let us down. We just held our heads high and told him it was OK, that it is life, and you make mistakes, and you just got to play through it,” Fredette said.
and i loved the part where coach rose said davies will play at byu again. fingers crossed.
what a crazy turn of events.
for those who didn't understand why the student section was flapping their "wings" near the end of the game... here's the reference. Angels in the outfield. Pierced my heart.
