The Royal Wedding

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!

While I didn't wake up at 4 am to watch the wedding, I'll be watching the play-by-play all day. I can't get enough! I LOVE her dress. It's seriously beautiful. I just read that Nordstrom is going to start selling $1000 knock-offs of the Burton for Alexander McQueen gown starting next week. It's a good thing I'm already married or I'd currently be figuring out how to make that gown garment-appropriate.

She's such a beauty

I found myself starring at her sister's dress just as much as Kate's, such a pretty dress:

Another thing I love, that all the commentators keep referring to as well, is how much the couple acted like a normal, common couple. I mean they drove away in an old convertible, that William drove himself, with balloons tied to the back!

I realize you can get all these pictures from the internet, but I love all my favorite photos in one place. If I were in attendance at this wedding, in my dreams I would be wearing something like this: (Princess Beatrice of York on the right)

Her perfect dress/ bow hat combo has put me on cloud 9 all day. I think I missed my calling in life- the fashion at this wedding has put me in the best mood all day.

I loved Kate's mom at the wedding too. Besides my own mom,
she had the best mother of the bride outfit ever.
I loved everything about it! I always appreciate a good wedding, especially one of the royal variety.

summer motto

This quote:

I had no shoes and complained
until I met a man who had no feet.

Has given Eddie and I our new motto for the summer:
don't complain.

This little summer gig of ours has many ups and downs, and it's very easy to get caught up in the bad. Especially since sales is such an emotional job. But we decided tonight that we are way too fortunate to even have this opportunity to be complaining.

the drive

the drive from Provo to Beaumont, TX (on the border of Louisiana) was long but pretty enjoyable. it was around 25 hours total. we stopped the first night in Albuquerque, NM and the second in Huntsville, TX. for the majority of the trip we were caravanning w/ Brett, who almost got his 715th speeding ticket. this drive was unique in that we were driving through the backwoods of texas most of the time. going freeway speeds, but it looked more like the country than the freeway. we listened to lots of texan country radio stations and Adele's CD, songs 1, 3 & 11 on repeat most of the trip.

first stop: MOAB!
in my jimmer jersey. eddie kept asking when i would ever wear it and really
the possibilities are endless: pj's, easter dress and swimsuit cover-up for starters.

the cautious driver. he's the safest driver in the world and i'm so glad

after a 2 hour nap

the giant, beautiful texas sky.
we drove through a huge thunderstorm with the craziest lightening,
and this was the sky right before it hit.

our dry cracked hands have already softened right up! praise humidity!

reunited

i met these girls freshman year of college- 6 years ago! we probably made 2000 trips to the creamery for brownies at midnight that year. they're all from centerville (except kendyle) and totally let me into their centerville clique. it was because of them that i've loved byu from day 1. they've recently started up monthly girls nights to keep in contact, but since i've been so busy with school, i just barely made my first dinner and it was so fun.

the best thing about reunion dinners is its amazing to see what everyone has been up to since you last saw them. becca and jessie have both recently started dating the love of their lives, heather just got back from her mission in Tennessee, heidi got back from her mission in japan and is taking the GMAT for grad school, kendyle is living her dream working for an interior design firm, and chel and jamie are having babies this summer!

i was so grateful for the fun studying break. this is by far the most stressful finals week i've ever had and it ends today!

MPA Closing Social

On Friday night Eddie & I went up to the tanner building on campus for my program's closing social. It was a good time- they had a murder mystery dinner party and i guessed the murderer! It was catered by Tucano's, and we both got our $8 worth by getting seconds of everything. I probably ate 2 whole grilled pineapples by myself.

2 of my favorite girls in the program: Emily & Karla

i can't believe my first year is over on wednesday. it seriously flew by. it was very demanding, and it definitely pushed me, but i enjoyed it. luckily, i was matched with some great team members each semester, so i was putting in long hours at school with people i enjoyed being with. come thursday, i'll be welcoming summer break with open arms! i'm looking forward to the cross-country drive with eddie this weekend.

6 months

Choose your love and love your choice.
quoted by President Monson

Today is our 6 month anniversary! For some reason I've been looking forward to this day since December. I'm excited to start celebrating our wedding anniversaries. I can honestly say I've thoroughly enjoyed the first 6 months of marriage with Eddie. I've already learned a lot about myself, and as cliche as it sounds, love Eddie 50x more than I did six months ago. When he left last month for a sales trip I cried myself to sleep two of the nights, and waited up til 4 am the night he was driving home. That would have never happened before we were married!
He truly is the best person in the world.

To remember our first 6 months, I want to record some of our favorite and not so favorite parts.

Eddie usually does all the dishes after I do most of the cooking.

I still get excited everyday when I come home and see Eddie.
He's a sight that will never get old!

My worst trait: I'm still somewhat bossy. And selfish. This has been painful at times but he's very patient with me. And I spend too much time on my computer.

Eddie's worst trait: His temper. Gets frustrated over the little things. But he's over it in like 2 minutes.

My favorite memory: Our trip to California over Christmas break. Or all our trips to the movies since we've been married. Going to the movies with Eddie on a school night, with a big thing of popcorn and a large DC makes me so happy.

Eddie's favorite memory: Our temple trips

My best trait (via Eddie) : Quick to apologize

Eddie's best trait (via Mare) : Takes such good care of me. I don't have to worry about too many things. Ie. cleaning my car, doing the dishes, money things, finding a parking spot when i wake up late (he takes me to school), etc.

Eddie's favorite tradition: making each other sing a solo for FHE

My favorite tradition: being so tired by the time we crawl into bed that we push against each other while saying our prayers just to keep each other awake

Eddie's favorite thing I do for him: make him dinner, take care of him when he's sick

My favorite thing he does for me: cleans my car, tickles my back, makes life fun

What I want to change: Give Eddie more undivided attention

What he wants to change: don't lose his temper

... because wedding photos never get old.
I can't wait to become less bossy in the next 6 months.

to do

we have a mini white board on our fridge on which we usually
write the same thing over and over: we need milk.

but this week i got overwhelmed with everything i have left to finish out the year so i wrote it all out. then it overwhelmed me even more.

eddie's to do's are at the top: jury duty on april 12th. then there's
everything i have to do for school in the next week and a half.

wish me luck!
the good news is that despite the craziness i've somehow been cooking the best meals i've made all semester. actually, i can't take all the credit. eddie's been helping a ton in the kitchen. i'll have to do a recipe post soon. this is the salmon from last week that was so delicious i couldn't get over it.

APRIL 21ST YOU CAN'T COME SOON ENOUGH!

this summer

Guess where?

dreamy, right?
we haven't stepped foot in our summer destination yet
but i've already found my dream house!

New Orleans, Louisiana!

I'm very excited. I actually need to tone down my excitement for our summer in Louisiana because it's starting to annoy Eddie. He gets to knock doors all day in the 110% humidity, so of course he's not as excited. But I keep reassuring him there will be so many fun things to do in the mornings/ Saturday nights.

Such as:
Plantations

strolling the French Quarter

short beach trips
Pensacola, FL is only a few hours away

new orleans river cruises

river tubing in baton rouge
(of course while singing garth brook's callin' baton rouge.
it's already going through my head all the time)

and don't even get me started on the food!
especially for 2 people who love seafood

the diners drive-ins and dives recommendations list for louisiana has already been bookmarked on my computer. depending on our waistlines, i plan on plowing through this list!
